Some Info on the 2250 project

What is the CPS-2250?:

The CPS-2250 was a modification that I (matt) did with a CPS-2000 mk1 and a CPS-2500. the basic idea behind it was that both guns have good parts to them. The CPS-2000 is known for its awesome power and range. The CPS-2500 also has good range, but not as good as the CPS-2000. The major advantage of the CPS-2500 was that it had changeable nozzles. This allows a longer shot time with a smaller nozzle. So the idea was to take the nozzle selector off of a CPS-2500 and put on a CPS-2000 pressure chamber. Kind of like best of both worlds.

Why call it CPS-2250?:

The number 2250 came about only because its half way between 2000 and 2500. Since this gung was a gross of those two it was given a number in between them.

How well did it work?:

The CPS-2250 when complete was a good gun. It was not all of what was expected, but essentially it was a CPS-2500 with a stronger shot, and a longer shot time. It had some drawbacks of course that were not expected. So here is a break down of how each nozzle size performed.

5x: There was very little change in this from the normal CPS-2500. The shot was a little harder. The shot time increased by a second or two. I never timed it, but now wish I had. The range increased slightly, but it tended to break up too much at the end to keep it going.

10x: This is where the real improvement was. The stream stayed coherent for a long while. The range was better than that of the CPS-2500, but what was good was that the stream stayed coherent longer and had superior accuracy. The shot time was also improved. I want to say by about a second but I am not totally sure.

20x: This was where it was sad. The range of the 20x on the CPS-2250 really did not improve over that of the CPS-2500. They both had shots that were in the 40 foot range but were not at all coherent. This was really sad compared to the 50+ foot 20x shot that is gotten from the CPS-2000.

All in all stats wise it really didn’t seem that much different from my CPS-2500. I was rather disappointed in that and was ready to take the gun apart and put it back to its original CPS-2500 and CPS-2000, and use those. But I kept it together till our next fight. And I’m glad I did. It was a really good gun to use for me at least. I had been using a CPS-2500 as my main weapon for at least 2 years so I was quite used to it by now, and this was basically a CPS-2500 on steroids. Although it seemed so similar when range testing in battle it really showed its worth.

It was an awesome gun to fight with, but I had one big draw back. It lacked that awesome 20x stream that the CPS-2000 had. I missed that stream too much, so after the fight I took the whole thing down.

Will it ever be rebuilt?:

Well to start this off when I took the CPS-2250 apart I had no intentions of ever rebuilding it. As time has gone on, and I have leaned more about soakers I have thought up more experiments that I would like to try with the CPS-2250, at this point I would not mind rebuilding it. There is only one thing holding me back. And that is that the PC from my CPS-200 blew up in a water fight a few months after I took the CPS-2250 apart. So, unless I pick up another CPS-2000 I doubt that I will ever re build it. I have a second CPS-2000 that has a chance at having the PC saved, so if I ever do get it fixed, the CPS-2250 may rise again. But until then I will do my work on CPS-2500s instead. They will work similarly. I have put up a set of instructions on how the CPS-2250 was built if anyone’s interested. It’s a good gun but honestly not really worth the work. I put them up more for reference for anyone who needs to work on a CPS-2000 or CPS-2500. But if you ever do decide to try to make a CPS-2250 please let me know, and I will be overjoyed for you. Any help that any one needs with a CPS-2000, CPS-2500, or CPS-2250 pleas feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help.
